Creamy Foam Cleanser Guide
Most people judge whether their face is properly clean by how tight it feels afterwards — the tighter it feels, the better the job. That assumption is worth questioning. Tightness is not a sign of clean skin; it is usually a sign of over-washing.
Celavive Creamy Foam Cleanser is positioned as the cleansing step itself: a deep-cleaning, exfoliating, and hydrating facial cleanser for skin that feels refreshed rather than stripped.

Where It Fits: The Second Half of a Double Cleanse
The official Celavive routine starts with cleansing, and at night that first step is really two actions: remove, then cleanse.
- Makeup removal deals with makeup, sunscreen, and the pollutants that settle on skin during the day. Most of that is not water-friendly, so water alone will not shift it.
- Cleansing deals with the other half — a day's worth of sweat and excess oil, dead cells on the surface, and whatever the makeup remover left behind.
Neither step replaces the other. In the morning there is no makeup to take off, but cleansing still has a job to do, because skin keeps producing oil overnight.
If you want the makeup-removal half first, there are two options in the range — the Conditioning Makeup Remover (a micellar water) and the Bi-Phase Makeup Remover — covered in this video.
Who It Suits
The product page lists normal, combination, and oily skin, used twice daily, morning and night. That is a narrower group than "all skin types" — Celavive positions a separate Postbiotic Calming Cleanser for all skin types, including sensitive and blemish-prone skin. If your skin is sensitive, that distinction matters when choosing.
The formula contains no artificial colours, no mineral oil, and no parabens. As of 2025 the packaging is recyclable and carry-on sized.
Why It Cleans Without Stripping
Cleansing has an old trade-off: clean enough and it strips, gentle enough and it does not really clean. The brand's framing for this product is deep cleaning without disrupting the skin's essential moisture barrier, and the formula credits two things for that — squalane and the Olivol24 blend.
Olivol24 Is Four Fruit Extracts
Olivol24 is not a single ingredient. It combines USANA's own olive fruit extract with watermelon, apple, and lentil extracts. According to the brand's science site, these extracts have been clinically shown to rehydrate for up to 24 hours after one application.
The hydration side works through several routes described by the brand:
- Citrulline from watermelon rind and sodium lactate and sodium PCA from apple extract support the skin's own natural moisturising factors
- Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) from lentil extract helps attract and hold moisture
- The blend supports the skin's natural ability to move water and glycerin across cell membranes, helping the surface hold on to the moisture it already has
- Olivol itself acts as an antioxidant and free-radical scavenger
For the gentle exfoliation, it is lauric acid that lifts away dead surface cells, associated on the product page with a smoother-looking complexion and more refined-looking pores. Glycerin provides baseline hydration without clogging pores, and palmitic acid softens skin and supports moisture retention.
The brand's own expected timeline for Celavive products containing the Olivol Botanical Blend is around two weeks of use before changes in the appearance of hydration, smoothness, and dryness-related flaking become noticeable.
How to Use It
The official instructions are four steps:
- Wet your face with water.
- Take a pea-sized amount onto your fingers and work it into a lather.
- Apply to face and neck in circular motions, focusing on the forehead, nose, and chin — your T-zone.
- Rinse with warm water, then carry on with the rest of your routine.
One detail many people get wrong: do not put un-lathered cleanser straight onto your face. The foam is what is meant to touch your skin. Use warm water, not hot.
Three Common Mistakes
- Chasing that squeaky-clean feeling. That tight, squeaky result is over-washing, not thorough cleansing.
- Skipping the morning cleanse and going straight to serum, on the assumption that skin left alone overnight is still clean.
- Stopping at cleansing. Cleansing is what prepares skin for the steps that follow — toner, serum, moisturiser. On its own it is only the opening move.
For this step, the useful test is not how clean your face gets. It is what state the skin is in when it reaches the next stage of your routine.
